Cuban Americans rally in West Palm Beach as security forces on the island intensifies

Dozens in West Palm Beach joined in a demonstration Monday night, where calls to end decades of dictatorship were heard.

It was a show of solidarity for the people in Cuba after young activists on the island had planned to hold their own peaceful protests Monday, yet Cuba’s communist government banned that from happening.

“We’re far but we’re together, it doesn’t matter we’re more than 90 miles away,” said one demonstrator during the Civic March For Change rally along Forest Hill Blvd and Military Trail.

The support was visible as many chanted Freedom and held Cuban and American flags and signs.
